Deb checked on him a bit ago, he's hiding under the sofa and she said he lifted his head up, looked at her and put his head down again, so I guess the poor guy is wiped out!

He is out and walking around amongst us and even comes up to us now and rubs his face on our hands, he feels so much better I'm sure! So after being miffed at us and groggy we are best friends again although Deb said "he's saying you were always best friends I just needed some time" but he is out and playing string toy and eating and looking out the windows so all is good!

If we weren't so technology illiterate we would put a picture on here, but just look at the picture of him from where he lived before in the avatar and picture him with a nice round face, bushy tail and paws and shaved everywhere else lol!

I'm glad it is done and he feels better but oh man my nerves.....  :eek2: :D

Another vote of confidence and elated that everything worked out for you. I'm glad Sylvester is slowly but surely going back to his normal routine. Yes, he must be thankful everything is over and he must look much better now that he is free of mats. Hope you can relax and enjoy your weekend.

Thank you both! They actually told us that he had a mat under his right "armpit" that was kind of restricting his movement and when they cut it his right leg moved better and we felt terrible!!!! But they assured us it happens all the time, but we discussed with them about maybe we should bring him in TWICE a year instead of just once so maybe in October we'll do this all again! :help: :runaround: :bliss: :gaah:   :D :p

They said bringing him in more often will make it easier on him as it would be more of just a "trim" and maybe (I doubt it...) he'd get more used to it?

Oh boy......I'm still getting over this escapade lol!!

Yes I would like to believe it would be easier with going more often too but I just can't sell myself on it lol! But it would be easier on him getting a trim instead of a big clip job I guess.

It's funny how this works out with him, the routine after he comes home and hides but then slowly comes out. Now last year he didn't hide, only for a few short moments, but I gave him treats and he came right out but again that was around 6:00 as I had to pick him up after work so he wasn't as groggy; this time we both had off and we got him around 12:30 so he was still very much under the influence which led to his hiding.

I was outside yesterday splitting firewood and one time looked up towards the house and he was in the window looking out, they have screens in so I could talk up to him from down below and tell him he was a good boy etc. then later Deb came out and showed me a picture she had taken of him on her phone so I could finally see what he looked like, I hadn't seen him yet, and she said he was out around her already so I hoped it was just a matter of time before he "forgave" me too, I always feel like he must hate me for doing that but once I was able to sit on the floor and he came up to me and I could scratch his neck and hold him because he "forgave" me, well, that feeling just lit up my heart, I just love this little guy so much, he means the world to me, helped me out of a bad situation after Sebastian died in my arms and I helped him from being flea bitten and living in a bathroom and skinny, so I would do anything I had to for him and I so hope he stays with me for a long time, he is only about 6 but when I read the stories of the young cats passing on the "Crossing the bridge" thread I worry, but I give him vitamins and fish oil and he seems in good shape now, we can only take care of them the best that we can and hope for the best.

I can relate to your feelings about not only doing anything you can for Sylvester but hoping he lives for many more years. When we adopted our present boy, Carleton, he was in such bad shape our vet who is a feline specialist couldn't even estimate his age except to say he was no younger than 5 and no older than 8. That's when my husband and I realized age didn't matter and we would take care of him and love him for as long as possible. I hope your Sylvester and our Carleton both enjoy their senior years. :heartshape:

Last night he was following us around like a dog, and jumped up and laid right next to me on the sofa, half on the sofa half on my lap, and would look up at me so cutely and purr almost like he was saying "thank you, I feel much better!".

    Wow....just wow. :D :redheartpump:

And the vet just called and said his bloodwork was great, the only thing was his sugar level was way up but she attributed it to him being so stressed out because there was no sugar in his urine so we are glad we did a full work up on him!

He's starting to sneeze a bit, probably from the stress and being in the vet's office, so I am giving him L-Lysine plus as usual his multivitamins and fish oil. Plus he has allergies, that's why they think he got an ear infection, and this weather doesn't help. But he is eating and drinking and coming out for treats, and he knows how to rest and take care of himself, he should be fine but I certainly don't want to take him back to the vet so please don't get sick lol!
