On a kindler, gentler note, I just saw the first butterfly on Michele's butterfly weed.
Very nice! Our hostas are blooming as well. It is a shame that so many plants bloom for only a few days, and then are gone until next year.Everyone's gardens are looking so good now!
Mine has been pretty battered by the monsoon, but the good news is that we've only had light drizzle for the past few days, so maybe it's almost over.
The hydrangea are flowering.

I thought this was a white hydrangea, but now I'm not so sure. It's getting very big very quickly, I think it might be a tree of some kind.

Does anyone know what this is? There are big patches of it growing under the pine trees. It smells very nice, particularly in the evening.

As soon as the rains are over I'm going to clean off the deck, compost any plants that are finished and then get a few more summer plants and flowers for the rest of the year.
Hopefully next week.
Thank you. I'm very happy that it's kept that deep blue colour even after five years hereBeautiful flowers btw
Thank you! I Googled it, in Japanese it's called 十薬, usually pronounced dokudami. The kanji means ten medicines, apparently it's used to make herbal teas. The white flower with the - I'll be polite and say thumb-like upright extension is Houttunyia cordata
