Mix it with a whisk!

Keep an eye on the two getting pushed aside. Put them to nipples when the others are asleep.

Have you got a starting weight on these two yet? If not, do so.

If they do not gain 6-10 grams a day over the next day or two you’ll need to boost them with formula.

So I took their first weights today at 10.15am, they are:

Dark tabby - 124g
Light tabby - 124g
Black -123g
Black & brown - 122g
Calico - 109g
Black & white - 102g

The two smallest seem pretty tough at keeping hold of the nipples when the others try to fight them off them, but I’ll keep an eye on them ☺

Our little mama cat is doing amazing and the kittens are all gaining between 10-20g a day so far. Here’s a pic of her little runts snuggling 🥰

All going well until this evening - one of the runts eyes are looking sore. Her weight gain has been pretty good, she’s generally the loudest of the bunch but has been louder than usual the last day or so. Attaching pics, any idea what it might be? I’ve contacted the rescue too but just checking in here too because I’m worried about her!

She definitely looks sick. If it’s just her eyes she may need terramycin antibiotic eye ointment, but if it is a viral infection in her body she may have panleukopenia. It seems to be going around. She will need supportive care as in syringing fluids (unflavored pedialyte) if so.

Please read about it here. It is highly contagious but not to humans:

Feline panleukopenia

No still waiting to hear back from them, she seems fine in herself and gained another 14 grams since yesterday, really hoping it’s just something minor! Some pics of Melody today

She can’t be too sick if she is eating and gaining weight! That’s wonderful to hear!

She may just need eye drops or ointment, though her eyes look good in today’s photos.

Melody and Velvet went to the vet yesterday, Melody has an eye infection and they gave her some eye drops ☺ Velvet went because she keeps going floppy, her eating and weight gain is fine - turns out she’s just very very chilled - she’s the only one that likes being handled and I was worried that something might be wrong because of her floppiness but all is good thankfully ☺👍

All six kittens are weaning and litter training and doing amazing at 5.5 weeks, and mum is getting sick of them already lol. Here’s a pic of our little cuties ☺
