To start with I have a very tight budget but have been looking for a better food for my cats. Right now they are eating Purina Cat Chow Gentle & they do get wet food daily. It is not in my budget to buy $30-$50 7-12lb bags of food or to feed an all wet diet. I have 7 cats and we go through a lot of food every month. I do the best I can and everyone is absolutely healthy. Though my one year old boy has a grain allergy so I have been in search of grain free food that fits with in my budget. These are the two choices I am looking at. I am pretty new at reading ingredient labels & such so I just wanted some help trying to figure out which one is better. I know these are not the "best" out there but with the budget I have to work with and what is available to me these are the choices.

Option #1: Pure Harmony

Option #2: Pure Balance

Both options are less in pounds than the cat chow I buy and both are higher priced but these are the ones I could make work. Please I'm not interested in hearing that both are junk and would just like to know which one is slightly better. I do what I can and pretty much all of my money goes into my cats.

I think they're both pretty equal in quality, and IMHO, neither are bad foods, especially since you're looking at foods that aren't super-expensive. I think the Pure Harmony might be slightly better because it has a higher percent protein content.

They sound pretty good, except for the Salmon Meal, but maybe they put that in for the Omegas.

I would give a slight edge to the Pure Balance because it has a lot less fruit/veggie fillers which cats often have a hard time digesting.

I'd go with the Pure Balance, despite it being slightly lower protein. It has fewer ingredients and doesn't have the random veggie mix that the Pure Harmony does. Fewer ingredients potentially means a lower chance of negative reactions from your suspected IBD boy, too ;)

They're both pretty decent foods, though :)

Never worry about being judged here for not feeding absolutely premium foods. You're doing the best you can, and that's wonderful. Your cats are very lucky to have you :D

THat's kind of a toss up for me. The first one has more protein, but the ingredients in the second one looks better. For those two I would just go with which ever one is cheaper/ less per pound because they seem pretty equal in quality.
