Any tips for introducing two young (1.5 to 2 years old) cats to each other?

Just introducing my first cat, Talana (the black one) to the new kitty, Stella (brown tabby). And it's been a challenge. Two and half weeks in and Talana is still randomly swatting at Stella. Sometimes, they'll be sitting peacefully near each other, and things will randomly escalate. I've been separating them when there's conflict, but my apartment is small, so there's limitations to the separation. Right now, I have to keep their food bowls apart because while Talana is a grazer, Stella will inhale any food in her vicinity-lol.

If you're only two and a half weeks in, and they are lying there that peacefully, plus the other things you mentioned, you're FINE. There are going to be occasional heated discussions, probably occasionally all of their lives, but that's a bit of nothing, just normal cat behavior.

My first kitty, Talana is quiet, a bit of an introvert. But Stella (the new kitty) is much more outgoing, so I think that grates on Talana.
