went by the shelter in our nearby town to deliver some cat food and had a chance to talk with the new manager. She seems great and very dedicated. The area did not smell of dog/cat, a welcome change and the cages were all clean, people working...yea!
In my other thread I had mentioned the city had with held funding because of the prior management. Not even giving the new manager a chance and one of the council members even said “I don’t think we neede a no kill shelter!”
Guess there was a vote 400 to 100 to restore funds so it made my day!

I’m excited to share the good news.

What a WONDERFUL note to end my day one!!!! Inboxes are scary to open these days......Hopefully soon our inboxes will be FILLED with notes like these. I know that getting a shelter to the point of being a no-kill - - - or even better, a town no-kill, it's extremely difficult. So I'd love to give a big hug from afar to that shelter!

And thanks so much, trudy1 trudy1 , for sharing that and reminding me there still IS love and compassion in the world.:heartshape:
