Hi, my cat, 7 year old female, rescued off street at one year old, had a faint positive for FeLV. Before that two snap tests show negative; one when the former feeder had her TNR, and one when I took her home. She lives in a multi cat household, all have vaccinations including FeLV.

I took her to the vet because she had anisocoria, and has spastic pupils now, after several weeks, the eyes switched, now the one that was messed up acts normal, the normal one now has the dilation problem.

At this point, there was no apparent issue with the eyes, so basically FeLV caused.

What support can I provide her to assist her? She is not sick, she has her stomatitis that has returned after over year after her PME, but other than that, her blood test was normal for everything. But she has this faint positive, I want to assist her in helping her immune system out to fight against the FeLV.

I understand about the there is no cure, have no idea how she got it or when. Just want to assist her as much as possible.

Did your dvm give you any advice? I would think you need to do another test to confirm she has it as well as a pcr test. Pcr test will show if they have active disease. I think there are much better treatments for felv now and someone else will chime in I am sure. I think though, they are not supposed to live with non felv cats. It can be transmitted by sharing litter boxes, food dishes and grooming as well as bites etc. So it is easier to transmit than fiv. The felv vaccination is not 100%, a cat can still be infected even when vaccinated although it is much less likely.
