I accidentally bought refills for multi-cat household. They are pretty expensive and I can’t return them. Are there any reasons I couldn’t use them for just one cat? Thank you.

Hi! I'd try them similar to how you have been using the other. You hopefully will find there isn't a detectable difference in your kitty's reaction, or if there is, hopefully for the good 
I don't see any reason not to at least try them. They will be, if nothing else, safe for a single cat.
