Feliway Diffuser Safe Next To Food?

Are the feliway calming diffusers safe to be plugged in next to the cats food? I have 2 cats and they eat, have the litter box, sometimes nap and sometimes play in one particular room of the house so I figure that area makes the most sense to have it plugged in, but the outlet is right next to their feeding area. Will the chemicals from the feliway somehow contaminate their food?

I couldn't find anything definite about this at all, but I would be cautious. Would it be possible to switch the litter box with the feeding area? I know it is safe next to a litter box.

Personally, I think it will be ok to have them next to the food.. I run one almost constantly, although not next to the food. When I originally adopted my guy, I purposely put one next to the food.. just in case, to calm him down..
