My kitty had a feeding tube put in when he was vomiting.  He actually had dry heaves, he would vomit when I tried to syringe feed him.  It took several days to work up to full feedings, the vet kept him until he was taking full feedings.  The first few days I had him home I would have to cut some feedings short because he started gagging.

My kitty would get very ill with IBD flares, too the point of being hospitalized twice.  It really is impossible to tell if it is IBD or lymphoma from symptoms.

I would ask this new vet about the prednisolone again.  I don't believe your kitty has been on a therapeutic dose long enough.  Patches was on 10 mgs a day for 2 months before he was tapered down.

I am supposed to call his veterinarian this morning to touch base with him, and let him know how Mukkia is doing. I will ask him again about the feeding tube, but I know he was very adamant that it was a no-go. as far as the IBD vs. lymphoma, I will ask him about that again. However, he explained to me that he does not believe this is IBD. Depending on how the past few days went it was going to determine whether or not Mukkia was going to be put on Prednisolone. I will let you know after I speak with him.

That may be an option for him too. however, you have to keep in mind that his new veterinarian was not convinced that Mukkia has either of those conditions. I am hoping that it is IBD, and we can start the medication and get him better. I do trust this veterinarian very much. He has truly helped Mukkia, and kept his best interest in heart and mind throughout this whole process. :-)

I'm pretty sure I read about the hemp oil from a thread here, don't remember which one as I only copied the link. Glad Mukkia isn't throwing up & had a BM, that's always a good thing!

My thoughts are with you and sweet Mukkia [emoji]128149[/emoji] :hugs:

Well, both myself and Mukkia's veterinarian must have forgotten that he is not in this office on Thursdays. :-( I called and the secretary reminded me. He is a specialist so he goes to two different offices. She said I could call the other location and leave a message with him , but I just left a message there. He will get it, and return my call.

Mukkia is no longer throwing up. He had a bowel movement early this morning. I went to clean it out, and he got in the box and covered up the stool I was inspecting! :-D He is so cool! @LotsofFur, I am going to ask his doctor about the Hemp.
LOL cats crack me up, funny how he didn't want you in his business. Is he eating?  how much? and what is he eating.

I know! :-D He made me laugh this morning! It was really cute! Yes he is eating. I was giving him AD, but he was going to where his bowl usually is. So, I put his dry CD in his bowl, a cup and a half. I gave him two teaspoons of Fancy Feast ( turkey and cheese) his favorite. He ate the Fancy Feast last night around 9:00 p.m, and then I saw that he ate his dry CD throughout the night, a little less than a half of a cup. So, I gave him some more of the Fancy Feast this morning, about two more teaspoons and he ate that. He only left just a little bit. I am waiting on his veterinarian to call me, but I think this is a very good sign. Maybe, the veterinarian was right, and Mukkia just needed his system to be coated with the barium. I am praying that is the case. He is still a bit irritable, because he doesn't want to be touched very much.
I may be naive or in denial, but I honestly don't think Mukkia has lymphoma or IBD. I am seriously starting to believe that he is going to be OK. :-)

That's so wonderful to hear. Fingers crossed that he continues eating (and keeping the food down). So funny too about the litterbox.

I am so , happy isn't the right word.  Overjoyed to see some improvement and am hoping this is the beginning of some real progress for Mukkia. Your posts this morning had a ring of confidence I haven't heard from you.

MUKKIA IS EATING!!!!!!  Thats the best news I have heard in two days.  If he is eating and not throwing up, don't ask why, just CELEBRATE!   This deserves the Dancing Tiger!

:hobbes:
Thank you! :-D If I could do that on my phone I would too!:-D
I am so proud of him!

I know! :-D The most amazing part of this is that I have not given him anything at all for vomiting /nausea, or anything to balance acid in his stomach, Famotidine!

This is the best news ever!! A HUGE milestone and if you ask me, a sign not to be ignored or made light of, a very hopeful sign for sure!!
