I will be going on a long trip at least 2 weeks and I have tasked my relative to help me on feeding them. She can only feed them wet food twice a day, 7am once, 7pm once and with dry food free fed. My one particular kitten doesn’t kitten dry food which makes me headache but she does eat freeze dried food. Should I mix dry food + freeze dried food in her automatic feeder to encourage her eating? But I believe she will only eat the freeze dried and not eat any dry food. What should I actually do so that she doesn’t starve lol.

There are companies that will feed 3x a day and take care of food, litter and water. Of coutse, it will cost more. There are also food timers for wet and dry $40+

Does she eat the freeze dried DRY? If so, I don't see why you can't just use that by itself in the automatic feeder. Just have your relative put in fresh freeze dried once a day. That should work. You shouldn't need to mix it with regular dry food unless you have other cats that will eat it.

I forgot to mention that I have 4 cats in total. 2 kittens and 2 adults. Normally I put freeze dried food as a topper because that thing is mad expensive if I fed as main. Or as a treat and they love it. Now I’m in a bind. If I put entirely freeze dried in the automatic feeder, everyone will keep eating it because it’s so delicious lol.

Do the other three eat regular kibble, or would they also only eat the freeze dried if it were available to them? If they will eat the dry, then I see no reason why you cannot mix them in the feeder. Try it before you leave and see what happens when you are still around to watch. Your only other option (that I can think of) is to hire someone to actually stay at the house to house/cat sit because even 3 meals per day for a growing kitten may not be enough. Another though, do you have another relative that could take over more shifts? Say 10 am and 10 pm?

No matter what you do, try not to worry too much. Perhaps on the 2x visit, your person also gives kitten some freeze dried food. Kittens CAN be overfed. Mine was getting paunchy and we even transitioned her to adult food before 1 year because she didn't need the extra calories. One of ours only eats twice a day and when we're gone, only once a day. It is not ideal, but she is fine.
