My laid back Senior female loves the corner of a beige wall! She will rub her cheek against the smooth surface several times, let her eyes scan up the wall to the ceiling and then...ZOOMIES like a bat outa hell! She will do this several times in a row and then revert to her quiet, withdrawn personality.

In the evening she will do the wall thing, but ..no Zoomies.

Has she lost her feline mind?!

Zoomies take a lot of different forms, especially for an older cat. Maybe at some point she saw something on the wall and continues to look for it when she is feeling frisky or it just may be what she needs to do to wind herself up. My 12 year old also looks at the wall or ceiling before she starts racing but she also howls and hisses at whatever imaginary thing she sees. It is a bit crazy but adorable.

Thanks for replying. Looks like Willow is a calico as well!

You know, she might be hearing something IN the wall, as well. That is not uncommon. One of my cats, who was fascinated by a wall, actually alerted us to a short with overheating behind that wall. Another turned up a family of mice who had moved in.
