Some of you know that my cat Simon has been battling severe IBD for some time, and it has progressed to the point that yesterday we were able to get a diagnosis of cancer/small cell lymphoma via a needle aspirate of his lymph nodes after a repeat ultrasound that was done after some serious GI symptoms.

He is intolerant to Leukeran, the next choice after Pred stops working (which it has) so it is likely we're going to give Cytoxin a shot, a more serious chemo, that we are hopeful he will tolerate.  If he doesn't, our options diminish.

If anyone has experience with Cytoxin I'd be grateful to hear your stories.

    Thanks.

There is a Facebook community called Feline Lymphoma that would probably help you out a lot.

We were finally (2 weeks ago) able to get a positive diagnosis but it was not of lymphoma but mast cell cancer.  We began a specific treatment for that, but it wasn't in time and yesterday we had to let him go with the help of one of his many caring vets.  He was a brave cat, and our gentlest cat and when the time came he went quickly with little suffering.  There is a link memorializing him on Crossing the Bridge at http://www.thecatsite.com/t/292577/i-have-lost-my-simon-after-15-years

He is survived by his step sister Jenny, and his two pet parents.

    Blessings to all.
