It's a 7 year old boy cat. He's had some dandruff before, now it's excessive. I’ve tried salmon oil, changed his food to blue buffalo’s skin+coat, groomed him (3x week). Grooming helped a bit, but it’s still all over. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by it at all.

The last checkup I had with the vet and asked if it is something else - and how to get rid of it. She said there's no specific treatment, but to try salmon oil.

Any advice? He doesn't seem to care, but l'd love to know if anyone else has dealt with this. I just bought a humidifier (he is so spoiled). Prior to buying one, my home is already at 60% humidity.

Hi. I am not saying to NOT try to treat it - internally and topically. But, one of my cats had a lot of dandruff and I brushed her to help with her own natural oils being spread through her fur. I actually started brushing her because she was long haired. While the brushing didn't stop it, it did reduce it. She was never in the least bit bothered by it and never itched from it nor overgroomed.

Yeah I don’t think it has any negative effect on him. He just looks like I’m not taking care of him. I feel bad for him.

Try a little coconut oil on the tips of your fingers and massage it onto his skin. His coat will be a bit oily for a few days but it should help.
I’ll give that a try! Really up for anything that will clear him up. Thank you!
