I know that today is the target day but I pray that your family is able to maintain and monitor the trap. Since he is eartipped, he probably has good outside living skills; he probably is trap-wary from TNR. I have a number of semi-feral kitties whom I bottle-fed that are super tame inside but get uber skittish outside. I often keep a trap propped open and put food on top of the trap as well as inside so that the cats get used to the trap without it going off.
He may eventually go into the trap when you least expect it; there are transport groups such as ImagineHome who can help you out when that time comes, if you haven't been reunited with your boy by now. Prayers and vibes for a successful rescue
