Resolved Error Message On Posting

Too often, when I post, I get an error messages saying I must wait 20 seconds before doing whatever it thought I was doing. What I was doing was rereading my post for errors, and then posting for the first time. Since it is the first time I have tried to post, why am I getting this error message?

There's a "flood control" to prevent spammers from deluging the forums by posting every couple of seconds. I'll mark this for feedback from the tech people.

Thanks for bringing this up DreamerRose ! As jcat said the platform has a built-in flood-check mechanism which is there to prevent spammers from posting thousands of messages to the board within minutes (they use bots to do that, so they can be very fast!)

I just tweaked the settings to have members with more than 20 posts and more than 5 days of membership bypass the flood check. Hopefully we can spot potential spammers before they reach that point
