Too often, when I post, I get an error messages saying I must wait 20 seconds before doing whatever it thought I was doing. What I was doing was rereading my post for errors, and then posting for the first time. Since it is the first time I have tried to post, why am I getting this error message?

There's a "flood control" to prevent spammers from deluging the forums by posting every couple of seconds. I'll mark this for feedback from the tech people.

Thanks for bringing this up DreamerRose DreamerRose ! As jcat jcat said the platform has a built-in flood-check mechanism which is there to prevent spammers from posting thousands of messages to the board within minutes (they use bots to do that, so they can be very fast!)

I just tweaked the settings to have members with more than 20 posts and more than 5 days of membership bypass the flood check. Hopefully we can spot potential spammers before they reach that point
