I have a dominant, small female cat named Alex. She hates...no, dispises even the thought of another cat. She has always lived alone and is about 5 years old.
I am moving in with my boyfriend of 5 years who has 4 other cats, and his brother who lives downstairs has one cat. I know this transition is going to be stressful for her because she's moving to a new location, new neighborhood, and totally new people (excluding me of course) and new scents.
About JOsh's cats--Tana is also a dominant female. The other three are more laid back.
I'm worried that Alex will never come around...and I don't know what to do. I'm at the point where I'm thinking of renting an animal-friendly apartment nearby or something and decking it out into a cat house, but I don't want to do that because I won't be able to visit her very often.
