Does anyone know if a total ear ablation can cause the cat not to be able to swallow food. If so is this temporary. The cat is having troubling swallowing food. Just had surgery 1 day ago but did not know it could cause swalling problems.

Have you discussed this with the Vet who did the surgery. I would definitely call them and tell them what is happening. It may just be that your cat has a sore throat from having a tube down it for the surgery (I'm guessing that happened), which can cause some swelling.

Thank you everyone. I will find out something this morning after the Dr makes her rounds. She said she would call and let me know how he is doing. He was being monitored all night. Hope you are right and he will be ok.
