Well, you won't be able to certify her hips until she's 24 months so you can't know if she's breeding quality for sure, but cool. Keep in mind that Labs have very large litters, so if you think 1 pup is crazy, try raising 15!
She came with 11 brothers and sisters.

With cats you get... about 3. You get more if you're lucky.

With big cats you get 2.

Bears, which are just as solitary as cats, often yield 4.

How the %$#&?

And yeah, look up "littermate syndrome" and the troubles inherent in keeping 2 intact females (or sometimes, even 2 spayed females. . .sigh).
I might could work out some swapping to at least minimise the issues. Good info. +1.

It applies to raising 2 unrelated pups of the same age too! It doesn't make a difference to them. You could probably work out a trade for the next year's litter or something like that.


Yeah, my Lab was from a litter of 13. Their poor mother looked extremely exhausted.

I'm thinking a staggered swap. Gotta find somebody to swap with but it potentially benefits both.
