We're adopting a puppy. This sight has been a great resource and source of comfort, does anyone know of a dog forum equivalent to TCS?
(Dog reddit sites are as awful as cat reddit sites... it's too many of uninformed and uninvested people regurgitating marketing quotes).

* Not sure this is the right forum to post this, best guess

I was on two different dog forums with our dogs in the past. If your puppy is a specific breed you can check for sites with that breed. If it's not purebred which is fine you can check for a site with one of the breeds in the dog's ancestry. For example, if the dog is part collie and part golden retriever you can check for a collie or golden retriever site. Some are more accepting of mixes than others. Best of luck and congrats on the new puppy! We'd love to see a pic or two when you bring the puppy home.

I bet the puppy is adorable!!!
Are you looking for any specific type of forum? (A place to share photos and stories, a place to get training advice, behavior advice, etc. or all of the above?)

Advice on health & behavior.
Photos and stories an after thought off topic stuff. User supported answers ...very important.

dog forum - Google Search

You might check and see if one of these in the list above has the same founder/owner as The Cat Site. I believe they expanded into other animal sites.
I know how to use google. I'm looking for recommendations others here found helpful.
(The 1st result I googled has a steep monthly membership fee, big red flag there)

Sorry you missed my point about TCS's owner probably having a new-ish dog forum. Best of luck with your dog.

She's just precious!!!
A lot of the dog forums are pretty slow, as most users have moved to other platforms.
Are you on facebook?

I recreas my reply and , sorry I may have come off as curt. TCS is privately registered so theirs no public list of other sites owned by the same person. Besides a first "Anne", we don't have any other info, even if we did. No guarantee the community would be similar.

But based on all the answers I got. No one here uses a dog related forum, which is what I was asking so. A recommendation based on personal experience.

Which makes sense. Thier are fewer cat owners that are invested enough in thier cats behavioral and nutritional well being than their are dog owners. But the cat owner that are invested are really really invested.

I'm on atleast one forum for every hobby/interest I have. With ubiquitous things like cats/dogs/computer-hardware groups tend to be too big or too small. Harder to find the sweet spot.
I've joined a bunch in fb and in reddit. Both platforms unfortunately have too many ignorant people replying like their experts or just too many posts that go unseen due to volume of people.

Goldenretrieverforum.com is a very good forum, dedicated to Golden's of course but a lot of good information on dogs in general. German shepherds and poodles have sister forums as well. Breed specific but knowledgeable people with good information if there's ever anything you want to look up.

Very true...as a lifelong dog owner.

What a cutie! Now that I see his picture, it might be a good idea to search for groups who match with his breed or predominant breeds.

I used to be a member of the "dog forum" - I made several facebook and instagram friends from that site. A lot of the people who were really active on that site moved away and there are still some good responders but it's more of a mixed bag. I currently just go to Reddit, though admittedly that's a mixed bag too.
