Hi everyone! My 6 month old kitten, Quill, got neutered on Wednesday afternoon and is at about the 60hr mark since surgery. He was doing great and not licking his incisions, but he seems to have gotten at his left side a bit in the last few hours and made it bleed just a tiny bit. I have attached two photos, the first being 30min after he upset the area, and the second about 90min later. It looks better than it did, but it needs to scab over all over again. I’m just making sure this is alright since our vet is closed for the weekend until Monday. They didn’t send him home with a cone or recommend one unless he started over grooming—I ordered one on Amazon that’ll be here later today so he doesn’t do this again.

It looks fine, really. As long as there is no actrive, heavier bleeding he shoiuld be fine. I have never used a cone and everything has turned out fine. Especially with the boys. Spaying is a much bigger surgery. I have had incisions open much wider and they healed.

Thank you! I got nervous because he took the scab off but it really didn’t take long to dry back up and seemed pretty surface level. It’s looking even better than the most recent photo this morning.
