Egyptian Maus are spotted. Your cat looks to me like a striped domesticated brown tabby colored short haired cat. She's a gorgeous looking cat with her distinct stripes and coloring.

 Wow,  she is gorgeous!

She does rather resemble some bronze Egyptian Maus.   but that doesnt mean she IS one unless you have some proof her ancestors came from Egypt  (   I don't mean thousands of years ago!) .

It's interesting  that her tabby pattern seems  so different on her right side and left side.    on the one side it definitely looks like a broken mackerel ( striped) pattern  which is different from the Mau.

Also her eye color looks more gold or copper?   anyway it does not appear to be the "gooseberry green" that the Mau 's usually are.   I think they CAN h

I think she's probably a Brown Mc Tabby Domestic Shorthair .    But really a stunning girl.

Where are you located and how / where did  you get her?

This is our boy and his owner (my son). Cats name is War Cat. But he is fiercely against people he doesn't know. And very protective of my son. Some lady dripped him on a publix parking lot at like 3 weeks old or so. We brought him home and noticed a has very few stripes but instead has spots. We have a brown tabby but he don't look anything like her. He has a loud voice and cries when my son goes out the door. Cay who acts almost as a dog. It's amazing but cool! Best cat I've ever had weather he is full egyptian mau or part or none I'm not sure but we are planning to test him to see!

His behavior reminds me about the renown Tara. The family found Tara abandoned in a park, brought her home... Where she soon enough choose to be the guardian and protector of their son.... After just a few week there was the renown incident when a neigbouroung dog attacked the son biting him viciously and dragging by the leg, and Tara in full motherly holy fury attacked the dog, and scared him away... After this, Staying with the boy and escorting him in home...

I think yours is a broken mackerel tabby. But do test him if you wish!

Thank you for saving him🤗 he’s a beautiful cat. The most likely probability is, he is a dsh mackerel tabby with spots or a spotted tabby. He looks like a brown tabby to me because he has the rust tones and with white. So he would be called a mackerel tuxedo bicolor by me. His face and ears suggest that he has oriental ancestry. Also a possibility of some Bengal ancestry somewhere due to the golden color, etc., and maybe the pattern of spots although Bengals have rosettes which are very different types of spots.

That’s lovely that he and your son have a bond like together like that. 😀

I wouldn’t bother with the DNA testing because the tests for cats are not accurate enough to be able to tell you what the breed is. There are people who have known purebred pedigree cats who have done those tests and the tests were wrong. Save your money and spend it on some toys and other things that he needs.😀
