Do Your Cats Watch Tv?

My boy Remy is often watching TV. I'm wondering how common that is.

Here he is a few minutes ago watching a cat documentary with me.

Carleton loves the show, Too Cute, on Animal Planet. He watches it if he's in his cat tree which is next to the tv.

Nilah used to adore it as a kitten, but she's grown out of it now. Maybe because I don't watch a lot of tele. She quite liked foreign docos.

My cats like to watch it if there are animals on the screen. Mingo is only interested in birds, but Lily watches intently anything with four feet. When that series was on about the big cats, she watched the whole show from beginning to end.

Angel used to watch tv sometimes. Funny, It seemed to be animated ones. For some reason, he liked the Charlie Brown ones. I don't know if it was the kids voices, or what, but I couldn't believe he would watch it!
I usually didn't, but when it came on & he was watching it, I left it for him. I was amazed he watched! I don't have the picture on my phone, but in my old laptop. Its of him in his bed, covered with his blanket, looking up watching "The great pumpkin Charlie Brown." His bed had been over to the side, & I noticed him turning his neck to watch, so I drug him in his bed, over in front of the tv. .. .. ."Uhhhh, can we say spoiled rotten! "
YEP! The only other one I saw him do that with was a Christmas one that was on. He was laying on the end of the couch at my feet, & I was watching him, watch the show.
Lol! I think I have video of that... somewhere, also on the old laptop. I'll post them, If I can find them!

Salem loves to snuggle and watch movies with me. At first, I though she was just coming for cuddles. But, then I noticed that her head would follow the action on the screen. Salem loves animated kids movies and her favorite is Finding Nemo! I think she likes the bright colors and all the movement. She also really seems to enjoy the Ice Age movies.

Mowgli watches animal documentaries rather intently, but otherwise just glances at the tv.

One of my nieces had a cat that loved to watch animated Disney films.

I had a cat that loved watching Popeye cartoons on tv.
Now a kitten that will watch almost anything on tv. But she seems to enjoy animal shows and action films... odd combination!

Yes. My cats "ask" for the Aquarium channel every morning after eating. They crawl around the back of our cabinet and sit in front of the tv til I turn it on. They also enjoy the weather forecast and hockey/sports games!

Sophie will watch Youtube videos with me if she's sitting on my lap but that's it. Lilith doesn't do that. She likes to sit behind me in the recliner.

Yes, I think its the colors & movement too, because I remember once I caught Angel up on his hind legs in front of the tv when the weather wss showing the dopler with all the color blobs moving across the screen.

We don't have cable or satellite but we do stream movies and such. Shade and Noka both love to watch a specific stream and Shade usually insists on watching it once or twice a week. He will sit on my desk and paw my monitor while speaking to me (combination of chirping and meowing) till I bring the show up.

Fresca will look at the TV if I'm watching it, but I think it's more that she just likes sitting in my lap because it doesn't seem to matter what's on.

They're sitting too close to the screen, bad for their eyes. They will have to wear glasses! Hey, that's what my mother told me as a child, my first thought when I saw your 2 fur babies up there, father off fur babies. Sorry, couldn't resist. (bad joke, oh well)

This was a while ago when he was younger and I ran it for the first time.
They found other entertainment in the form of bird watching but that is for another thread.

Yes, I will often catch one of The Ladies watching, particularly when I watch PBS. I really don't watch much TV these days. I stream most everything to my Kindle 10.

When the big cat documentary came on, all four of them were lined up on the end of the bed watching intently. Sugar sometimes goes after a bird or squirrel on the screen.
