That's great news, she is going in the right direction. Well done. She might not lose as much the second week so dont be disheartened.
Just like us- the first week is always a big fast loss.... and then ugggggghThey say it's best to not weigh so often...What do you think? That's great news, she is going in the right direction. Well done. She might not lose as much the second week so dont be disheartened.
Though they don't get up and raid the frig at night,be nice to have a hooman of my own to dispense my food!I agree in the case of humans, let your clothes tell you how much you've shrunk. With pets its different though, a few ounces is the equivalent to a few pounds to us. Rapid weight loss isnt good or sustainable.
Yes, I'm aware that the first week is the one with the greatest progress, that's why I said that I would be happy if she loses three times as much in the next couple of months. That's great news, she is going in the right direction. Well done. She might not lose as much the second week so dont be disheartened.
No, there's no rush. Actually, I would have never imagined that she could lose that much in such a short period of time, I was expecting something like half of that. It was a big surprise when I read the scale!4.6 oz in a week is a lot. We never tried for more than 1/2 an oz or 1 oz in a week. Is there a rush for her to lose weight?
I expect to see a lesser weight loss next week because I'm rotating their wet food, and the one I'm feeding now has a little more calories than the one that I was using last week.I agree in the case of humans, let your clothes tell you how much you've shrunk. With pets its different though, a few ounces is the equivalent to a few pounds to us. Rapid weight loss isnt good or sustainable.
The hair remover paste that I mention is what I can find here in Italy. The product name is Remover (would you believe that? ) from MSD (pharma industry).Hi Antonio65
Are you referencing Laxatine or Cat Lax ,something like that ? Be interesting to see what the manufacturer says but I'd imagine since it does aid in digestion and basically a petroleum that there'd be more benefit to ising it than not,I can't imagine those ingredients to have a significant amount of calories ( we shall see, right?)
If it's Laxatone you should gradually introduce it anyway ,can cause diarrhea with daily supplementing abruptly- a tiny dab perhaps every other day or so to start or ask your Vet his recommendation.....
I completely agree with V verna davies ..... plus she'll keep the weight off with the slower adaptation of less intake..... you're doing great!
Oh gee- the ingredients are a bit different (not much) though as you mentioned it too looks like maple syrup as well( but thick as Vaseline)Laxatone does have cane molasses ,malt & corn syrup ( cats do go crazy for this too)..... so I'm very curious now to know how many calories,do let us know if you find outThe hair remover paste that I mention is what I can find here in Italy. The product name is Remover (would you believe that? ) from MSD (pharma industry).
The content of this paste is as follows:
Soy Lecithin, Maltodextrin, Vegetable and Animal Oils and Fats, Sugars. Additives Per Kg: Vitamin E (Alpha Tocopherol) mg 35. Chemical Analysis - Crude Protein 2%, Crude Fat 40%, Crude Fiber 0.1%, Crude Ash 1%. Enzyme Complex: Glucoamylase 0.1%, Lactoferrin 0.1%, Lysozyme 0.1%, Glucose Oxidase 0.022%, Lactoperoxidase 0.022%, Amylase 0.01%, Sweet Abrasive, Non-Ionic Surfactant, Appetizers
This paste has a nice smell and cats are crazy about it. It's very dense and greasy, and the color of maple syrup. So I think it might have some calories content.
This is its webpage (in Italian)
Remover - Hair Paste
I'm surprised the did reply since they really didn't answer your question, lolI got a reply from the hair remover paste's manufacturer (I confess that I didn't expect them to reply at all). I asked them about the calories content in each recommended dose of paste.
The answer is that they never considered this aspect of their product, but they can conclude that only a small fraction of the paste is converted into metabolized energy, and that this part is small enough not to contribute greatly to the daily calories intake. They said that the calories provided by each dose of that paste can be considered an acceptable tolerance in the daily food management for a cat.
Plus, they recommend two doses weekly of that paste, so there should be very little concern about the calories contribution.
