I'm so glad you stuck with your gut and found out you were right and confirmed Miko had pancreatitis!! Poor Miko... But at least you are on the right track now.
The only note I would offer, is prednisone can be a little extra work on the liver because it has to break down the medicine into prednisolone (this is the biological process that occurs for both humans and animals.) The reason why it is not often prescribed for felines is because they have a harder time breaking prednisone down into prednisolone, this it why might not be as effective. I learned a lot with Sadie's anemia journey... though having a PhD in the family helps some too .
