Emerson managed to crack his dew claw pretty significantly. I noticed him licking his front foot for a prolonged time and examined it. There is no blood, but he definitely didn't like me touching it. He is acting normally and just (play) ambushed/attacked Dexter, so it isn't hurting him too terribly...:whiskers:

Is there anything I can do to help his foot? I don't think it warrants a vet visit. It seems like a sort of "wait and see" injury. Anyone have experience with an injury like this before? I'd imagine they are pretty common.

Emerson photo tax, because I love showing off my boy!

He is doing great! It isn't bothering him too much. He slept next to me as per usual and ate breakfast like normal.

You can clean/wash his claw with some salt water or antiseptic - best to keep the area clean while it heals as infection could set in if the quick is exposed. If he's allowed outdoors, you might want to keep in him for a while.

Claw injuries are pretty common, and if there are no complications it should heal up just fine.
