Dear all,

The thread title is the problem we are facing for our 5 month-old kitten. It seems that the butt hair is too long so that her butt is usually wet after going to pee or poo. We believe the problem is not really from the litter.

Does anyone facing the same problem and is there any solution? We are planning to shave her butt...

As a 5 month old kitten, they still pee quite a bit as their muscles are not fully developed yet and there's not enough strength to control or hold the bladder. The other thing is that your kitty may not have dug deep enough before she pee and also the litter may not be absorbing fast enough and when she pees, it forms a puddle of pee and that's why her bottom is always wet from peeing.

Shaving the private part is a good idea for long hair cats and most cat owners does that for their long hair cats.
