DAILY Nutritional Yeast?

I read about nutritional yeast as a good topper for wet food, especially for picky cats. I started putting a light sprinkle on my two cats' wet food twice a day (they get wet food 3x/day). They love it so, so much and now have started refusing to eat unless I put a pretty generous pinch on their food 3x/day. There's no "recommended amount" so I'm curious if anyone knows if this is too much? One cat is in great shape but the other is a bit chubby.

Thanks!

I can't really find much info on portion size for this, but it is basically Vitamin B-3 I believe, and did read it is high in phosphorus, so if your cats are older and have kidney issues, it might not be a good idea to feed too much of it. Have you tried other toppers for certain meals? I use freeze dried chicken for toppers most often, sometimes freeze dried liver. You can even use crushed treats if necessary.

I will look into that! They don't seem to like chicken (regular chicken, not freeze dried). I'll cut it down to a sprinkle for now!

There are all kinds of freeze dried meats...turkey, lamb, beef, liver (both beef and chicken) and I think I've even seen rabbit and duck but don't pay much attention to those as my furries don't care for those two.

I'm with your cats! I put that stuff in everything, it's such a good addition to spice mixes and is a great added source of nutrients. 😹
