My dear friend Cricket crossed the rainbow bridge. She wasn't eating as much and was lethargic, sleeping a lot so I took her to vet. They did blood work and it came back normal on everything, so he prescribed Mirataz as appetite stimulant and gave her a steroid shot. The Mirataz made her act strange, pacing and dilated pupils. It helped a bit, then lost effectiveness. One day she ate one and a half cans of food, but later threw it up. I tried chicken, turkey, tuna, eggs, salmon, beef, everything I could think of and she just refused. Food repulsed her, but she did eat treats. On Monday, I decided to end her misery, she was losing weight, weakening and getting less mobile. Acted like she was in pain. She was the sweetest cat and I dearly miss her. It is hard having a house empty of cats after 30 years of having them. Hurts my heart.
