Hi, we are picking up our new kitten soon. He seems to be very fluffy already, i’m wondering if he could possibly be a long haired cat? I’ve only ever owned short haired! He has very soft, dense, long fur. Loads of fur around his neck! He has some ear tufts already, not sure about toe ones though. Tail is fluffy at the bottom but thins out. All the other kittens in his litter have very short, thin fur. He is 4 weeks in the pics except from the last one which is almost 6 weeks. Thanks 🐈⬛

Awww he's adorable but it's difficult to tell until he's a bit older, but I would say there's a possibility because he does seem to have some floof going on maybe medium haired.

I tend to agree with medium haired. The floor on the legs and neck seem like more than kitten fluff. Congrats on getting a new kitten soon!

I wouldn't say she's a long hair. She's got a lot of kitten fuzz! :)

Get her used to getting lots of brushing and petting as young as you can because when she grows up she might have some of the softest, thickest fur you've ever seen on a domestic cat! :)

Aww, what a cute little kitten! Reminds me of one I used to have. It was just as fluffy as your baby but its fur became more medium-length as it grew up. We've had all our cats since they were born because their mom passed away. So I would brush them every day when they were little. Their fur was so soft! One of the others we had was black and didn't have much hair at first. I thought its belly would be bald but over time it got really fluffy, now it's one of the fluffiest cats we have! I'd give it some more time to see if its fur will stay fluffy or change as it gets older.

He is adorable, and I think he will be a longhair. He already has a ruff on his chest which lh kitties have. Kittens with only kitten fluff don’t usually have that. He could end up medium hair but genetically it’s the same as lh, just not as floofy and long as cats like forest cats and Persians etc. . The tortie behind him is a beauty, I would take her too 😹🤗

Also 6 weeks is really too young to take a kitten home unless something happened to the mom. They need to be around the mom and siblings until 12 weeks normally to be properly socialized. 8-9 weeks minimum.
