I will adopt a kitten that has been treated for fleas within the last 12 days, not sure when, the moment i get her i will head to the vet to make sure she is flea free, my question is: when a vet checks for fleas, could they miss it and give her a clean bill of health? I called the vet asking this question and she said it's not possible to miss fleas, if she's clean then she's clean, but since i live a place with no high standards for veterinary care i want to check here.

Thanks

It's not hard to check for fleas. I look for live adult fleas or flea dirt. Granted, flea dirt may still be on her after treatment but you shouldn't find any live fleas.

To answer your question, yes, a vet can miss fleas and other things. They're humans after all.
