Are chocolate covered finger/stick cookies shortbread or sugar cookie based?

They look more like a sugar cookie base than shortbread. A butter-type cookie, according to Google.

Cool, thanks. Just looked up the difference between butter and sugar cookies...It seems the butter cookie texture describe more what these cookies taste like.
I kinda forgot about "butter cookies". The ones in the picture are the ones I usually buy and the texture wasn't quite "shortbread" but wasn't quite "sugar cookie" either. I'm going to try my hand at making my own for Christmas this year so wanted to make sure I was doing it right.

In my experience, they've been shortbread, but I've never heard of this brand.
