Is there any vet that can help with people with financial difficulties. I know there is Care Credit but besides this option, is there any vets or ASPCA organization that offer low cost vet care? It is obvious OP cares very much, but it is financial hardship that is also hindering medical care.If you can type here, google the SPCAs number. And call the vet anyway - if the cat dies, who's cat it was won't matter.

I'm sorry but vet bills are crazy expensive. I had to borrow against my 401k to pay for huge vet bills. Mine is like 20k. Most people would opt for euthanasia, but my heart just couldn't do that, so I know how she feels.
Thank you. We don't have Miramax in the house and getting some will be diffcult. We do have eggs though. We also have something made for cats. It's a hairball remedy that some say has a laxative or stool softening effect as it has white patrollem, soybean oil and light mineral oil in it. Not sure if that would be helpful for her or not right now. When my older cat got that way I gave him 1/4 tsp. of human Miramax job a bit of Lickables treat or a beaten egg yolk. It was the only thing that worked.
Not sure about giving a 25 year old cat Miralax. If remember, I'll mention it to the vet at her appointment tomorrow and see what they say about it as she has other health issues as well.Yes it would be. Next time you are able , get some Miralax to keep around. Your hairball remedy would be good.
I know she does, the soonest appointment we could get for her is tomorrow at 1pm so she's scheduled in for that. I feel very strongly she should see a vet much sooner than that but I'm not sure what to do about it. The vet office knows what kind of condition she's in and they just don't seem to care. IXena needs to see a vet. But I have read all you wrote and understand that’s easier said than done.
See if she’ll eat egg yolk. You can offer a whole raw yolk or beat it with the white and let her have some scrambled egg either raw or cooked. The yolk has acetylcholine which can stimulate the peristaltic movement in the gut (helps move things along.) It also contains lecithin which will help dissolve any balls of fat that bind hairballs together. In short, egg yolk can have powerful laxative action. Plus it’s great nutrition and high in moisture too.
The egg yolk should help loosen things up in the meantime.I know she does, the soonest appointment we could get for her is tomorrow at 1pm so she's scheduled in for that. I feel very strongly she should see a vet much sooner than that but I'm not sure what to do about that.
True. I will talk to my mom about trying it when she gets back. The egg yolk should help loosen things up in the meantime.
I have to be careful with calling and basically making demands or her appointment could be canceled, and we'll be left trying to find somewhere else to take her on short notice.Tell your vet, you waited long enough and she must be triaged because she can’t pass anything.
If things get worse after hours, then only option you have is ER and that is going to be very expensive. I do suspect she has some kind of blockage.
Sooner you treat, she has higher chance of survival and less financial stress.
I read your whole journey and I think you waited too long. Sorry for coming off harsh, but longer you wait, gets more expensive.
Thank you. I haven't slept well in about a week now as Em one of our other cats became ill. He's doing great now thankfully. Now Xena's sick and care is being majorly delayed, and I feel awful.I’m sorry if I upset you. In the previous posts, you also mentioned financial difficulties and lack of car to drive to vet. I only suggested getting to vet sooner than later because longer you wait, vet bills only get higher.
Good luck with everything. It’s is heartbreaking to go through such stress.
