Atticus, the gray male tabby for whom this thread was created, oddly enough smells less drug-like when the weather is cold. Now, don't get me wrong; he still smells absolutely amazing in the winter, and the coolness of his fur is lovely. However, Atticus definitely has his most intoxicating bouquet in the summer.

Carry on my Cat Huffing friends!

:flail:OMG I love your post! What a visual. I never thought of it as cat huffing but what a perfect description. I love to bury my nose in my cats' fur. They each have a unique scent and I love the way they smell. My husband caught me doing one time and just shook his head. I don't find it odd at all:D

OMG it's like a comedy writing competition!!!:clap::clap::clap::clap::lol3::nod::surf:

My RB tortie Tootsie smelled sooo good. Sweet!!! I used to love to huff her. She just smelled fresh. All the time.

My current cat smells...like a cat? He's got a weepy eye right now, and I noticed an odd smell. It's iff putting to be honest. And to be honest, it could be my own sinuses, in which case anything remotely smelly turns my stomach. For this reason though, I think everyone should sniff their cat on a regular basis. All I know is, when Robin sees the vet? I'm going to demand they sniff his head region--I really want to know if this is in my imagination, or what!

PS I'm so lucky he doesn't turn his litterbox into a scene from Dune. :lol3::nod::lol3:
IMPORTANT EDIT
Robin really was very ill; it wasn’t my imagination. He’s ok now. His herpes had flared up, badly, and caused huge issues where nobody could see them. A few weeks after I posted this, I found him, unresponsive, and rushed him to an emergency vet. He was dehydrated and had secondary infections on his eye due to the herpes. Later, a specialist said the herpes lives in the entire ocular area. I might have been smelling the inflammation and infection. He’d see two vets before his collapse, by the way. Always trust your instincts AND your nose!!

Is he ok now? Eyes alright? Thank heavens you found him in time! I bet you will be 'Huffing' constantly now.

Thank you! He’s right as rain today! Only one flareup of the herpes since, which is well controlled with famciclovir, as lysine seemed not to help at all. He’s fat, lazy, and content, and far too much of all three for his own good!

:hellocomputer:I didn't fully know what to expect when I read YOUR SUBJECT MATTER but I 100 percent get your point! And to have someone shoving their wrist in your face would make me want to do more than scream, how rude and boorish!
As for cat huffing, nothing puts me to sleep more quickly than snuggling with our faces touching, it is intoxicating and the best sleeping posture

I still think this is one of the funniest post I've ever met anywhere on the internet and I was reading some of the messages to the girlfriend of mine that has a cat and the two of us were crying or laughing so hard but we both understand exactly the point and we understand exactly what you're talking about although it doesn't like it as serious addiction and it sounds like something they're going to have on television with the rehab process for people that like to Huff cats!!!

:flail:Do they make hairball medication for humans?
Myself, I down an ounce of extra-virgin olive oil every day. Just pour it in a shotglass and toss it back! Took some getting used to, but the hairballs have slowed down, and my cholesterol levels are GREAT!
