So my cat Dudley had to be admitted the day after Thanksgiving because he was barely passing urine. Two days later and he's home. He had a catheter put in, but no surgery. Vet recommended a cone for 5 to 10 days. I'm not doing it. He was so freaked out. Until I see he is really irritating that site I think it's more stressful to use the cone. Any advice out there?

I have never been able to get mine to wear them and they were ok. Supposedly the donut, soft ones are more acceptable to some cats.

I have not had good luck with cones and do not use them; however, having said that, we can't tell you that we are sure that your cat does not need one. Watch him very carefully because if he starts to worry the site or pull at the catheter you have another problem to face. If he is left alone, such as when you go to work (if that is something you do), you need to make sure that he is not going to start in on the wound.

There are a lot of cone alternatives.

I don't know that a onesie would work with this kind of issue.
