Currently I am feeding my cats a grain-free wet food in the morning and frankenprey in the evening.  However, I will be moving back to Toronto, Canada in a couple weeks and would like to switch them to a commercial raw in the morning and frankenprey in the evening.

I had heard great things about Rad Cat, but when I emailed them to ask where I could find it in Toronto, they told me they don't deliver to Canada.  I was just wondering if there were any brands you can recommend for commercial raw.  Preferably something without fruit/veggies.

These are a few brands I have found:

Arusha Pet Food

Congo Raw

Have you had any experience with these brands? Thanks!

Hi there! I'm Jen.
I currently live in Toronto and there are many places to buy commercial raw from! The brand I'm feeding my cats is Nature's Variety Instinct Raw, and it is commonly found in many Pet Valu stores that have a freezer section. My local Pet Valu is at Keele and Lawrence, so if you're around there, I suggest picking up a couple bags of NV. But if Pet Valu isn't an option, here are a few other stores.

The Dog House, raw pet food store - http://www.thedoghousetoronto.com/store.html I personally haven't been to this store, but I've heard good things from friends.

http://bonespetboutique.com/index.html Bones Pet Boutique

http://www.boldraw.com/, http://www.menageriepetshop.com/, http://www.tolldenfarms.ca/, and http://www.pets4life.net/ are some others!

Hope I helped! If you have any more questions about raw feeding in Toronto, feel free to PM me anytime!

Jen.

Someone on my dog forum just raves about Carnivora. I know she's in Canada but I don't know where she lives or if it's a local or nationally-available brand. But it sounds great!

I highly recommend Red Dog Blue Kat raw food. My cats luuurv it, they have a large variety of protein sources (from plain ol chicken to kangaroo and wild boar) and it contains a very minimal amount of veggies (2%, and they're juiced). Read the labels cause some flavours don't contain bone (bison, venison, boar, and kangaroo) and therefore need to be supplemented with a calcium source or only fed intermittently.

The Carnivora   that was mentioned is also fantastic, but for some reason my cats aren't as crazy about it.

Not a fan of Arusha because of the addition of kelp. None of my cats would eat it unless I smothered it in freeze-dried chicken powder.

Hey, thank you for the suggestions.  I will definitely give Red Dog Blue Kat and Carnivora a try when I get back to Toronto and probably Nature's Variety.

My cats' vet told me recently that this vaccine (if we are talking about the vaccine for cat leukemia) is now available every 3 years instead of every year.
