Hi!
I have a 5 year old tabby and a 12 week old kitten.
The tabby gets fed twice daily - dry food in the morning, then some wet and dry food in the evening.
The kitten gets fed four times daily - wet food morning, noon, and evenings, plus dry food for overnight. Slowly transitioning to 3 times daily.

We're super intense about providing high-quality dry food - all food is grain-free, high protein, good taurine (great in the dry kitten food) and contains no meat-by products (the first ingredient is de-boned chicken).

But... wet food. WOW it is expensive for high quality wet kitten food. We feed our adult cat Fancy Feast just because it was what she always ate when we adopted her and she's picky - it's mainly for the moisture levels.

Is it suitable to feed the kitten wet adult cat food when he reaches 16 weeks and just continue the kitten dry food for 1 year? The primary reason here is prohibitive cost, but we in no way wish to skimp on nutrients/quality if it will be to his detriment.

Any recommendations for brands, specifically for wet food, would be helpful as well!

To clarify the above, we current do feed the kitten a wet kitten-specific food, just looking to find ways to save money and keep him healthy.
