Help!
Rescued 4 kittens from the cold born to a stray. The smallest girl had a prolapsed rectum.

Suture done TWICE, but didn't work.

Coloplexy surgery ( vet said invasive) was done ONLY 4 DAYS AGO AND SHE'S PROLAPSED AGAIN!
My friend and I are devastated. Sassy has strained, cried, vomited, and had a horrible time after surgery JUST TO HAVE IT PROLAPSE AGAIN?!?

Not to mention how expensive it all is and not being able to afford it AGAIN.

WHY is this happening?!?
Vet said he made extra whatever they are to tie it up.

She strained so hard to poop she screamed and fell over.

What is happening?!?

Unfortunately there is no way we can know what is happening with your poor little one. Did you take her back to the Vet? That needs to be done immediately, and there should be no charge as it's all a part of the surgical process (IMHO).

We have members who have had cats with rectal prolapses and you can read about those here. However, this is not the time to do that as your little one is having a medical emergency and you need to get back to the same vet to see what can be done. Please let us know what happens.

I emailed them right away and called this morning when they opened, only to be told they would let the doctors know and someone would get back with me. It's now 2:40 p.m. in the afternoon and I haven't heard a word.
So upsetting!

I guarantee you if it is done again we'd be charged again. He said that he had a kitten that he had to redo three times and to be aware of the costs.

I had emailed them right away knowing they were closed. I called when they opened this morning and let the receptionist know what was going on. She said she would let the doctors know and someone will get back with me. It's now 2:40 in the afternoon and I haven't heard a word.
It's so frustrating and upsetting. She's suffering which we can't stand to see and TBH went into debt for the surgery in the first place.
Paying another $1,000 for the surgery again doesn't seem even feasible since it didn't last more than a couple days. The doctor that did the surgery said that he had sutured it in two different places. So we assumed it would stay and it only stayed a couple days.

She strained so hard she fell over.
She projectile vomited.

We've got her on a high fiber wet only diet and that didn't even help.

(Blissful belly and intuition)

Idk what to do and no one is calling me back.

I called an emergency hospital and a local cat clinic. The cat clinic told me to go to a specialist. The animal hospital told me they didn't know what to say since she's already had the surgery that usually takes care of it.
I'm so upset.

I would continue to call the original vet, even tell them that you feel that you have to bring her back in. Did the cat clinic offer then name of anyone who could see you immediately? Sometimes vets are not willing to get involved in what another vet has already done and you may be encountering that. If she is in a lot of distress, you might need the ER to stabilize her and try to make her more comfortable.

I do see your point about being recharged if they consider this to be a whole different procedure and not one in which something was not done correctly in the first place.
