I'm having some Zombie Cure from Coffee Bean direct with a scoop of Dunkin dark to give it a boost. I also agree with W Willowy about getting an electric kettle. They get the water really hot really fast. Like 2 minutes fast. I love mine.

ETA: The problem could also be your coffee maker. I have this one and it's genius. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000FFRZ26/?tag=thecatsite

What's genius about it? The reservoir in the back of it. It has a separate on/off switch. This means when it is on, the water in the reservoir is always HOT and full. Here's how it works. Say you want to make 4 cups of coffee. You put water in the decanter up to the 4 cup mark. Set up the basket with the filter and grounds and slide it into place. Add the water to the top of the machine like you would with most drip coffee makers, close the top and hit the main on switch. The machine will pull 4 cups of hot water from the reservoir and make the coffee with it. After the coffee is made the water you added replaces what was taken from the reservoir. I love it SO much. My DD is sharing an apartment with roommates. Once she's out on her own, I'm getting her one of these. They are not really for someone who only drinks coffee every now and then. For a house with multiple coffee drinkers or someone like M maggiedemi and me who drink it every day, it absolutely is. It's worth every cent IMO. Bunn is the brand of coffee maker that a lot of restaurants use. There's a reason why. They are great. I've had quite a few coffee makers in my life. As a matter of fact there are 2 other coffee makers in my kitchen that are sitting on a shelf because this one has stolen my coffee loving heart.

Bunn has always been a great coffee maker!! For as long as I can remember!!!!

I never bought one, because they are pricey.
They are. I got mine from Kohls. I have a Kohls card and once a month they have a 30% off code with free shipping if you use your card. I had Kohls cash that I used too.

I had a Bunn for several years and I liked it really well. It finally gave out on me; I got my use out of it. At the time it went out on me money was tight, so I had to get a cheap coffee maker or go without. Going without coffee is simply not an option. One of these days I may go back to a Bunn coffee maker.

I agree with W Willowy - get a kettle! Idk how I'd live without mine. Mine is stovetop, but it pours a lot easier than heating in a pot, and whistles when the water is ready.
:yeah: I use a stovetop kettle too because I like the pour over method. Since I'm the only coffee drinker in the house this works perfect for me. DH prefers tea so he uses the kettle as well.

Two cups of dark roast coffee today. It was very damp and dreary when I went out earlier but there's nothing like a good cup of coffee to warm you up. :thumbsup:

I have a kettle with a thermometer on it for pour over. It has the perfect temperature range just below a boil marked on it. It is a stovetop, so it didn't cost much. If I just want a cup, I use the pour over. If I want and need more than just a cup, I use a coffee maker.

Are you on any daily medications? If so, give your doctor a call. But, yeah, it's probably the stress.
I don't take any medications. My doctor won't give me any. She said my only problem is my mother.
Yeah, I think it's the stress because I didn't have my 4:30pm coffee and I'm shaking worse than ever. Funny I thought for sure it was the coffee or sugary creamer. But I didn't have any since this morning.

UGH... I have so much food--sweets in here because Christmas Eve was cancelled due to Covid in on family member.

I am really off my diet!!

Eating cookies for breakfast, OMG... last time I did that, was when I was a kid!!!

I have too much to bring to my cousin's house today.. I cannot add more cookies!! They are cookie bakers!!

Had a cup of Green Mountain Holiday Roast K-cup, with TJ vanilla oat/almond milk creamer... My blood sugar must be so high!!

Yes, M maggiedemi being under constant stress, can cause you to shake.. overdoing caffeine and sugar can also add to it.. If this continues, my suggestion would be to re-visit you doctor, again..

You do not want to have a breakdown, over this... left untreated, you will....
But, I think deep down, you realize all of this. The hard part is the phone call.. but you have so much courage...
((hugs))

Merry Christmas!

I think I already did have a breakdown. But I'm afraid of having a stroke. There is no escaping her & she cannot be reasoned with. Our microwave died, we can't get a new one yet because SHE has to be the one to pick it out. She researched all day, but none of them are good enough for her, except maybe a $300 one that doesn't even have any special features. My dad told me she's crazy. I'm like "I know! But you won't do anything about it." If he would take control, then we could just get a cheap microwave today.

Drinking Aldi Decaf leftover drip coffee with Silk Vanilla Almond Creamer. Had to heat it on the stove. But it was cold when I put the creamer in! I cooked it for 1 minute on high, 5 minutes on medium. What did I do wrong? Should I measure out a cup with coffee and creamer and cook it all together?

I would seriously consider a second opinion on that. From a mental health specialist. I have no doubt that your mother is the reason for your stress but a doctor who dismisses the problem like that is not looking out for your best interests. A qualified psychologist or psychiatrist can better determine if you should be taking something, even if it's a mild something.

Back to coffee. I'm having some gingerbread coffee with a scoop of Dunkin dark to give it a boost.

I am not going to be a PITA.... so I am letting it go.. just know that we are here for you and love you.. You can reach out to any one of us....:hugs::hugs::hugs::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump::redheartpump:

I am not judging you.... just caring about you.. PM any of us.. we all care...You know that...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I will explain what I do when I have any instant.. I boil the water in a water kettle.. on top of the stove. I measure out tea/instant coffee, into the mug. When the water boils, I add it to the mug. Then I mix it with a spoon. Then I add whatever creamer I want.. I do not measure creamers.
I just go by color of the tea/coffee...
~~~~~~
I hope this helps...

Oh, while I am waiting for the kettle to boil, I play with Geoffrey...

Oh... M maggiedemi I just remembered this....
My dad.. years and years ago.. before we had instant coffee in the house..
He would put some water in a tiny pan, add regular coffee to it, and cook it for 6-8 minutes.. then he would strain the grounds out, as he was pouring it into his coffee cup......

I guess this was a way of making coffee. like a campfire, without a coffee pot.....

We went to our neighbors for Xmas brunch, it's become a tradition with a few of the other neighbors invited too. Everyone gets along and we all have animals. She's a fabulous cook and I drank way too much black coffee so I'll probably be up late tonight but it's only once a year so I don't care. :lol:

Leftover Aldi Decaf drip coffee with Silk Vanilla Almond Creamer. Heated it on the stove again and it was cold again after I added the creamer. Guess I will have to add the creamer while it's on the stove.
