I’ve made my own cinnamon syrup before…
Simmer cinnamon sticks in water for a bit, take them out, add sugar (half or equal to amount of water), simmer until dissolved, let cool and bottle it up.
It’s a nice option if you like cinnamon and sugar, but don’t want to sprinkle the ground stuff directly into your coffee.

Basically this is liquid sugar with flavoring
That's the syrup flavor that will be in my drink too. Vanilla Syrup. I have to choose how many pumps I want of that. Then if I want added sugar. It's complicated to make the drink taste perfect! But I will try. I'm gonna order it on the McDonalds app on Friday morning.

I wonder if that's like simple syrup? I found a secret Starbucks in the casino in town. I asked them for sugar in my Vanilla Latte, but they said we don't have sugar, we only have Simple Syrup. I should have said yes, give me the simple syrup because my drink was not very sweet with just the vanilla syrup and no sugar.

That is exactly what it is.
Simple syrup is essentially simmered sugar water.
A heavy syrup would be equal parts sugar to water. Less sugar for lighter syrup.
Simple syrup is not usually flavored.

Simmering cooks the sugar to the syrupy consistency.
If using whole spices (cinnamon sticks, vanilla beans, allspice, etc.,) for flavor, add them to the water first, then remove before adding sugar.
Or you can add liquid flavoring whenever you like

I see that Dunkin has an Americano. What is that again?
It's espresso with hot water but it's important that they pour the hot water in first then the espresso, not the other way around. Otherwise the hot water will break apart the espresso and you won't get the right taste. Nothing else is added to it so you can enjoy the rich taste of the espresso.

I had my two cups of coffee this morning. The first was great, the second was very blah, watered down tasting. I thought perhaps the coffee maker had malfunctioned but tonight discovered the problem when I found a pod of unused grounds on the counter.

Usually I clean the used coffee pods at night and in the morning fill two pods at the same time so I am ready for the second cup. But when I went to make my first cup, there was a pod from yesterday still the machine which I set on the counter. Later on when I went to make my second cup I apparently picked up the used pod instead of the fresh pod. Used coffee grounds does not make a good cup coffee.

We tried a new independent coffee shop today that we've been wanting to try. It's not that close but not that far either and it was a beautiful day so we took a drive. I ordered my usual latte w/oat milk and cinnamon on top. Now here is where things got dicey - the barista made it iced when I never asked for it cold and when I checked the receipt they charged me 50 cents extra to sprinkle cinnamon on top. I have never ever had to pay for cinnamon on top at any of the coffee places I've been to. She did remake the drink hot but with an attitude and said the 50 cents for cinnamon was because it was a syrup which it clearly was not since I poured cinnamon powder out of a shaker. Obviously we're never going back and this is clearly the worst experience I've ever had at any coffee spot. :yelling:

I got an iced signature latte from Dunkin today. They have a deal on the app for a $2 medium with any purchase. I got the caramel craze. It was OK. Nothing to write home about. It wasn't as sweet as I thought it would be which is good. I'm not into sicky sweet coffee drinks. I also got the butter pecan doughnut. That was tasty.

This happens to me all the time! I don't like iced coffee, but it's hard for me to remember to always say "Hot" when I order. And they always have an attitude when they have to remake it. So lately I've been ordering on my app on my phone.

Got something new at Tim Hortons yesterday. It's not a Latte, but it's underneath that on the menu board. It just says "French Vanilla". I asked the guy what is that? He said it's like a cappuccino. Not sure exactly what it is, but I like it better than their lattes!

That's awful. I wouldn't either. 50 cents for cinnamon? Insane. Even SB doesn't charge for cinnamon and they are charge happy.

I ordered a hot Americano from Dunkin not too long ago. The employee handed me the cup at the drive through and it was cold. I told him it was supposed to be hot. It was in the right cup. He looked so confused. He had no idea what it was so he asked another employee and she told him but she didn't specify that the water he added was supposed to be HOT.

He fixed it for me right away. He was new and very sweet. I felt bad for him because he felt bad.

When I ordered a hot vanilla cappuccino at Dunkin, it was cold! I wonder if when they added the foam, they used cold foam or something?
