Percy and Jasper have sit figured out, and I’d like to move on to stay. However, I’m not sure how to go about training this behavior. I sit them and encourage them to stay put with treats, but the treats keep falling or they get up to eat them, totally defeating what I’m asking them to do.
Has anyone trained their cat to stay using a clicker? If so, what method worked best for you?

I'd approach it the same way as with a dog. Start but asking for literally 1-3 seconds of stay, and gradually extend the time. A release word is helpful too (I use 'ok' or 'release'), and only treat once the stay is completed. The clicker is used during the stay, to mark the correct action.

Sometimes a hand signal can reinforce the command too - I use a flat hand, palm forward (like if asking a car to stop when directing traffic).

Stay patient, and keep sessions short.

Hope that all makes sense ;)
