Hi, all. Farley Cat has had chronic diarrhea for months. He's mostly fine otherwise, in terms of energy and happiness, although every 3-4 weeks he gets lethargic and ill. We've seen the vet and he's cleared all the usual tests. We've put him on specialty food, give him Vitamin B12 injections, oral prednisolone and metronidazole -- all with no change to the diarrhea.
The vet recommends we get an intestinal biopsy. It's likely IBD or lymphoma, I guess. My question is what treatment comes next? I don't want to pay $$$ for a biopsy just to satisfy the vet's curiosity as to what's wrong with him. I want some assurance that there's a likely treatment plan. Any tips?
