My 2 year old female just recently started chewing things....magazines, paper, fishing line, computer cables, etc. She has plenty of toys, so I don't think it's boredom. I'm afraid she's going to chew an electrical wire and get zapped. Why is she doing this all of a sudden? Should I spray her with water when she does it?

Get her teeth and gums checked for problems ... and don't spray her with water. Try using redirection instead. When you see her chewing on something you don't want her to chew on, break her focus on it and give her a new toy instead.

Best of luck,

You say she has plenty of toys....but does she play with them? Are YOU using the toys to play with her? I still think boredom could be part of it.

That being said, protect dangerous things by cat-proofing them. Wrap, tape, or bundle cables and cords and keep other things closed up and put away where she can't get at them.
