Then tell me Mr. scientist why is rerun responding to her hyperthyroid treatment? And why is Sams lung cancer stopped growing?

OK John, I’m not defensive you’re defensive! I mean that light heartedly.

I am extremely happy that your cat is doing well. I’m also very happy that what you chose to use is working. I don’t think anybody here would ever want you to “just let your cat die“.

The article, research that I posted is just for information to be careful. Just saying that not everything that works on humans will work on cats and that you have to be careful. Like I said it what you’re using is working on your cat that’s awesome I know several cats with lung cancer that are treated with prednisone or steroid injections. They seem to do OK for a while some longer than others. But nothing so far is a cure. Cats are amazing though and fortunately nobody tells them that they’re sick. Therefore not knowing that they only have X amount of days to live I think really helps. I mean with humans don’t get sick so you go to the doctor right? Anyway, there’s a lot that is not understood about cats. We have so much more to learn. There really does need to be a change.

If something doesn’t make sense I apologize, I am doing the hands-free thing with my phone.

I think the most important thing we can do as cat owners is not be lulled into complacency. Cats can go down so quickly and so dramatically, it makes sense to me not to take their good health for granted. I weigh mine on an infant scale every two weeks normally, once every 1-3 days if one is sick; I pay close attention to behavioral changes, changes in appetite and bathroom habits, signs of stress, etc. I don’t hover, I’m very relaxed around them but also very aware. Cats are so good at hiding pain, bring proactive is our best chance at keeping them healthy, whether we use allopathic medications, naturopathic remedies, or a combination of both. And of course the best medicine of all is our love for these complex little creatures.

Yes, I am defensive. My first cat Batman was put to rest due to misinformation supplied to me by his vet. The vets little helpers came out to tell me he had lumps in his intestines and lungs. So I made that decision to end my best fur friend I ever had life. Later I found out he had pneumonia in the lungs, not cancer. That is when I took my cat Sam to a new vet had him rechecked for lung cancer and it had grown about 1/2 an inch in a month. The new vet told me to go to a cancer specialist, but I'm retired and can not afford it. So I researched and found that mushrooms can help for lung cancer treatment. So I tried it. Went back re-xrayed and sams tumor did not grow in 6 weeks. The problem I had with rerun was hyperthyroid and failing kidneys. The original vet gave me some pills and rerun stopped eating anything. Again I went to natural medicine. She has survived for 7 months now using a hyper thyroid mix and kidney treatment her hair is back to normal and she is eating normally.

I'm doing what I can I had 4 cats now only 2. I love them all. Snickers the oldest ran out the door one evening that was the last I saw him. So it has been a tough year for me and my wife. So I'm sorry. But sometimes people make judgements about things just because they can. Yet I'm seeing good results.

I am sorry about Batman and Snickers. I am glad Sam is doing so well with the treatments. There was actually an article written recently in one of the Veterinary magazines about mushroom use in cats.

Thanks maggie I'm not sure SAm will eat these. Currently, I spray him 2 times twice a day.
These are capsules, AHCC is virtually tasteless. I empty 1/2 capsule in his food and mix. He never knows it’s there. Spray him with what? I’ve missed something, lol.

Something is going on with the Chewy page, but I easily found it when I googled the product.

Currently, SAM's mushroom mix is a spray and I have to spray his mouth 2 times twice a day. He's good about it.

Cheetah is not doing well. She used to be constantly with me when I was home. Now she is sleeping under the display case. I wonder if getting Omapaw was the wrong thing to do, I just didn’t have a choice.

You have had the new cat since last month when you started the thread? Is Cheetah's health declining or is she just unhappy that there is a new cat in the house? It has not been all that long since you brought in the new boy.

Cheetah is doing well for now. So I am happy about that.

Omapaw is a happy team player as always. I am happy about that.

Diesel.......that's the horse. not so good. I wound up running tests on him checking for things that could cause neurological issues and checking his vitamin levels. All came back ok but he continued to get more sore. Had a Veterinarian out today and he is fairly low on the neurological scale. Like a one on a scale of one to ten. But he has severe juvenile arthritis in his hocks. His right hock has almost completely fused and the left is not much better. I had his hocks injected today with steroids and hopefully it will make him feel better al though it will be temporary. The Vet said with hock injections and anti inflammatory medications he may be ok for light riding. Long term use of steroids and anti inflammatory medications are not without side effects for horses.

I've got allot of thinking to do. This sucks.
