We have a Greek salad we both like because it can be made in about 2-3 minutes. Cucumber, tomato, black or kalamata olives, feta cheese, oils, pepper, and onions, peppers, or dressing if you want. You can also get fancy and add finely chopped whatever greens on top (parsley, dandelion, chard, basil, etc.)

Muenster makes a good cheese on any sandwich hot or cold. :yummy: It's kind of mild and creamy and melts well, so for a grilled cheese it's delicious.
Plain sharp cheddar goes with everything. Swiss cheese isn't my preference but I love embarrassing the person I'm with by looking at people through the little holes. :flail:

I tried Dublinger (that's what it was called, I think) and wasn't a fan.

I've never tried it. Looks like I need to pick some up.
Kat, it is HEAVENLY. Buttery. Kind of Sweet. Queen of the Cheeses.

Five-year-old me: "Then why don't you MARRY it!"
Thirty-five year old me: "Because I didn't realize that was an option at the time."

Love brie! And most French cheeses, really. In college French Club would host a cheese table during International Week and I always made sure to man it and took as many of the leftovers and stuffed them in my microfridge as I could.

We have a local company called Rogue Creamery whose blues have won awards internationally, beating even French blues in competition. Wonderful cheeses but pricey. Their blues and cheddars are an occasional indulgence that I try to hide from The Spouse whose tastes run to Velveeta. ;)

Oh, no!!! I just NOW got home from a trip to TJ’s! Rats. Well. I’m going to have to read TCS while I’m shopping, too.

Now I want to go to Trader Joe's. But it's late and ultra freezing out there. Alas.

I did have a double grilled cheese sandwich with blue cheese and provolone (and bacon) for dinner at happy hour tonight, though, so that should count for something!

OMG!!! Only on the cat forums would I find a thread devoted to cheese! LOL

I love cheese.

When I had a discussion about diet with a nutritionist, she asked what food I couldn't possibly give up... my answer: cheese. She asked what kind of cheese... my answer: yes. (ALL OF IT) She was distressed that I couldn't bring myself to limit my cheese. Thankfully, I have a trainer now who simply says "Enjoy your cheese -- in moderation. Portion it out. Enjoy. Work it off. Repeat."

I think my fave has always leaned toward the blue cheeses. A Stilton brought to room temp can be so wonderfully creamy.

Another fave is more of a holiday treat... the cranberry cinnamon goat cheese. Again, room temp, spread on crackers... lovely.

We took a road trip along the west coast one year... of course we had to go to the Tillamook factory. Heaven!

I remember my first brie was actually a mushroom brie. I brought it home and made my dad try it with me. I think I might have corrupted him then.

Swiss is not my favorite, though I like melted on sandwiches.

Fresh buffalo or burrata mozzarella.... I could eat that by the bucket.

Good lord.... you guys got me rollin'! :hyper:

Today's market sample was the goat gouda again and an imported provolone. I tried the provolone. I honestly didn't really care for it  I think it was the taste and chalky texture.

Not crazy about provolone either... can only have one slice in a sandwich.. it is strong.

I wish I could. The nearest TJ's is 60 miles 1 way. :frown:
