Changing pigmentation of cats nose

Hi everyone

I had a question about the changing colour of my cats nose

I initially spotted that a small area near his nostril became white-ish from pink and the same area now has become black-ish (see photo attached)

Is this normal? I'm worried its some sort of cancer but wasn't sure if anyone else had any insights?

It most likely is from the sun, but what bothers me is it is NOT on the nose itself, that is where they usually are. if it started out whitish, it may be a healing wound, and those take forever to completely heal, It doesn't look raised a great deal, or is oozing, which most skin cancers do, but to be safe the next time you take him in to the vet, have them look at it. if it doesn't change in size or raise it is most likely not an emergency. Make sure you write everything down about how it started out, which is important, and take pictures like you have every month or so to compare. That would be invaluable.
