When my cat gets hyper sometimes playing with the other cat or just running around her tail sometimes puffs up to the max like she saw a dog but she seems super happy when she does it and will rub my legs right after she puffs up and runn around again? Can having a puffed up tail be a positive thing sometimes?

Yeah i do believe they can i know Sooty does when hes in a really good mood and just being a little lovebug his tail puffs up as much as he can make it

Oh yeah my cats' tails puff up when they get very excited and playful. It's a reflexive thing, I don't think it is entirely voluntary on their part at all or maybe not at all. Just like they can hiss, growl, and all that stuff when they're playing very intensively.
