Cat’s nipple possibly cut off?

So my cat is a male and is 8 years old. He’s a Selkirk Rex mixed with Persian so he has quite long curly hair. My father was giving him a hair cut and there was a knot in his fur. We brush him often but I guess the brushing wasn’t good enough. Anyways he cut the knot to make it smaller but he got to close to skin and now there is a small(looks like the size of a nipple to me) on his stomach( the cut was also near his left leg.) Please note: I’m 15 and I don’t know a lot about cats and I’m just really worried that this could have long term affects on him if his nipple did get cut off. (we also went to the vet about 4 days ago and they did not say anything about it.)
