Is it still bleeding a lot or has it slowed down?

Honestly I would call your vet to see if they can get you in earlier especially if it's still bleeding. I'm sure it's very painful for your cat and I also worry about it getting infected when the cat uses the litter box.

One of my cats had a very similar injury, completely ripping out the nail and I got him into the vet the next day and they ending up having to do a declaw procedure to remove that toe digit. He was fine after the surgery, got pain medication and antibiotics for a week and did well for the rest of his life.

Keep us posted on how he's doing.

Poor thing, that looks painful :(
If you can't get into see the vet sooner, I would change his litter completely to shredded newspaper if you think he would use it.

You can also buy pelleted paper litter at the pet store. He will keep it clean himself. It would be best to get him in to the vet, Sooner than later.

i unfortunately cant afford the vet , they say it would be about $1,500. And now i'm not sure what to do. I think its getting infected too, started using hydrogen peroxide.

A aylin c Did you take her to the vet or just call them? Does your vet offer Care Credit so you can pay off the bill in increments instead of all at once?

I would avoid using hydrogen peroxide as it can damage the healthy tissue and is painful for the cat.

Is there more than one vet clinic in your area? I've found the prices can vary greatly and you might find a vet who will see and treat this for much less.

No, don’t put anything on it. Your cat will lick off anything on the nail and will get sick. Also a lot of topical medications are toxic to cats. Cats heal extremely well on their own.

He needs to be seen by a vet. It looks worse than it did initially. It also probably hurts.
What area are you in?
Also start a go fund me. Call local cat rescues and ask for advice to get vet care.
There is a page on this site that discusses what to do if you can’t afford vet care.
