Hello everyone, this is my first entry into this
forum. My question is whether you should be able to
hear cats breath. Lately when I go to bed and read
my book, my cat "Casey" joins me to relax and
sometimes I can hear her breath.

I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday.

After reading my message I should be clear...I know that
cats breath, but they usually do it silently. I can
sometimes hear her breath through her nose? Just
wondering if that is normal!

Thanks

Could she be snoring? I know that one of my cats, Gezer, sometimes "snores" through his nose when he's asleep. I think it may have to do with the fact that he's a bit overweight.

Years ago, my cat Lucky (she dies 2 years ago), began to snore like that and even "talk" in her sleep as she became older (around the time she was 8-9 years old).

We have a doll faced Persian who has a shortened brachial structure and definitely hear snuffling with him. Does your cat have a flatter face. Here is a pic of our boy. Not completely flat.
